gordon’s cup

It’s almost 5pm here. Living on the West Coast that means its already 5 o’clock somewhere else, time for a drink.

One of my favorite raw vegetables, and I don’t have many, are cucumbers. They are light and crisp and can be used in a variety of dishes. One of my favorite drinks is also cucumber water. Gordon’s cup is a cucumber water with a twist…that twist being gin. This is a simple summer drink that looks really fancy!

Ingredients:
One raw cucumber
Mortar and Pestle
2 shots of gin
1 oz of lime juice
1.5 tbsp simple syrup
Lots of ice

Directions:
Cut 8-9 translucent slices of cucumber. Lightly muddle with your mortar and pestle.
Fill a shaker with ice and add in muddled cucumber slices. Add in gin, simple syrup, and lime juice.
Shake. Pour into a glass and serve.

  1. Sounds interesting! But how does it taste? Does the gin make it taste like a martini? Wish you had come up with this recipe about 6 weeks ago and brought it to the reunion!
